BPH is the enlargement of the prostate gland which is caused due to overgrowth of the cells inside the prostate. When the prostate grows in size, it squeezes the urethra passing through it resulting in problems with urination and ejaculation. BPH is not the same as prostate cancer but can affect one’s quality of life with urination and other problems.
Prostate cancer develops inside the prostate gland. Prostate cancer is found to be the one of leading cancer types in large Indian cities such as Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. Unwanted growth of cells is found in the prostate gland. If the cells are non cancerous, they don’t cause any threat to life of the person. Such cells once removed usually don’t return / grow back.
